Grace Episcopal Church -- Amherst, Massachusetts

Located in the Connecticut River Valley, Amherst, Massachusetts, enjoys views of plains and hills in all directions. Although originally a farming community, Amherst is now known principally for its educational institutions: Amherst College, Hampshire College, and the University of Massachusetts. Smith College, located in Northampton to the west, and Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley to the south, cooperate with the three Amherst institutions to form the Five College Consortium.

The area's cultural life is rich due in large part to the Five Colleges.  Not only do the educational institutions offer numerous lectures, concerts, museums, galleries, and theater, but community organizations also add to the mix of opportunities for cultural engagement and grassroots activism.

Amherst remains as stimulating and lively a place to live in the summer months as it is during the academic year.

Boston is a two-hour drive from Amherst; New York is three-and-a-half hours away. Bus service and limited Amtrak train service connect Amherst to cities in all directions. Bradley International Airport, 50 miles away between Springfield and Hartford, offers extensive connections and is easier to use than Logan airport in Boston.
