Dear Grace Church Friends and Family,
Earlier today, Bishop Fisher wrote to all the parishes in our diocese strongly advocating that we suspend all church services and parish meetings for the next two weeks, which is very sound advice in this critical moment of uncertainty. It is in everyone’s best interest that we follow our bishop’s recommendation rather than disregard it and go our own way.
Starting today all church services (Sunday morning services at 8:00 and 10:30, Liturgy in the Chapel, Wednesday 12:10 service, and Friday Evensong), as well as all parish meetings are suspended and canceled through and including Saturday, March 28th. This suspension includes the Parish Office and our staff. It is our hope that services, meetings, and parish office will resume, starting Sunday, March 29th.
These are troubling and challenging times, and for now we are taking things day by day. While gatherings are suspended, please know that pastoral care continues. Please contact Megan or me, if for any reason you need us. You can also leave us voice messages at the church. We encourage you and we want you to be in touch with us. We want to know how you are doing, especially if you are not well or are in need of help.
For the next two weeks, I encourage everyone to read the lessons that you would have heard in church. They can be found online at the Lectionary Page https://www.lectionarypage.net/. You can also read from home the Daily Office, which can be found starting on page 75 in the Book of Common Prayer or online at https://www.bcponline.org/. While we are temporarily apart, we remain the Body of Christ.
We will continue to monitor the situation as events unfold.
Let’s keep in our prayers all who are already affected by the Coronavirus. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know or contact anyone on the Vestry.
We are in this together. God bless you and may God be with us in the days ahead.
Faithfully yours,
